Dulcinea Baking: Authentic Bakery Delights in San Jose, CA

I recently dined at Dulcinea Baking Co, where I enjoyed their Oaxacan food and bakery offerings. The atmosphere was delightful, maintaining a minimalist design that beautifully showcased the Oaxacan style, complemented by lovely plants. The food was fantastic, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making my visit even more enjoyable. I especially love that they are reducing their carbon footprint by using the Too Good To Go app, selling unsold food at a discounted price instead of throwing it away. Highly recommend!

They have amazing bread, from the conchas to the bolillos, love their recipe, quality pan dulce.

More than just a bakery, this place has a lot to offer. Open seven days a week is also a bonus when you’re looking for something to eat in the downtown area. Besides pastries and baked goods, they also have burritos, coffees, Colombian breads with meats n cheeses, and more. Locally owned and operated and the staff was super friendly when I stopped in. They have a great café atmosphere outside with some patio seating where people can enjoy breakfast lunch and dinner based on the hours that they’re open. I stopped in to get a special Oaxacan pastry with little red dots on it, and ended up leaving with a bag full of sweets n treats. I couldn’t help myself! Lastly, another huge bonus is that they have their own parking lot. I love that San Jose has great places like this sprinkled around town. I’ll indeed be back.

Beautiful, Delicious, and Memorable Our wedding cake was perfect—elegant, tasty, and exactly what we wanted. The pan dulce was also a hit with our guests! Dulcinea Bakery made everything easy and delivered with care. Highly recommend!

The conchas are soft and perfectly sweet, the empanadas de leche and tamales Oaxaqueños are rich in flavor, and the pan de muerto and rosca de reyes (seasonal items) are truly special — all made with care and tradition. You can taste the quality and heritage in every bite. Everything is fresh, reasonably priced, and beautifully presented. The owners and staff are kind, welcoming, and happy to share the story behind the pastries if you ask. Whether you're Oaxacan and looking for a taste of home, or just someone who appreciates real Mexican baking, Dulcinea delivers an experience that’s both cultural and delicious. Highly recommended!

Went in for some churros. Ended up buying some conchas, chocolate oaxaqueño, and the fried plátano plate. This place is a vibe. Great neighborhood spot. Wish I lived closer. Was extremely surprise when I felt fresh made churros. Can’t beat that feeling.

I don’t know where to start, the greeting, the customer service, the amazing employees, or the super delicious food & coffee. I mean look at the caring packaging, and the texture of the food. You know when you visit a place for the first time, and as soon as you walk in, you either get that struck feeling or the welcoming homey feeling, yes as soon as I walked in the lady on the cashier greeting made me feel like I have been a customer for years. The coffee she recommended was amazing like really good, and the milk to coffee ratio is like precise. I love it. The employee that helped me with the pastry was amazing and welcoming. Now the food, is quality. I know like whole food and I know hollow food. You could tell it’s quality ingredients, and the sweetness, the texture, and the baking are all on point.

First time coming to this bakery love the selection of pan dulce they have unique flavors and selections love the mini Conchas my favorite I ordered tortas de jamon and hot chocolate !!! The staff is very friendly very helpful respectful this place will go on top favorites this place really stands out there unique pastries, good quality ingredients !!!
